Nazia qualified in 1998 and obtained a LLM in 2004 specialising in plural legal systems in respect of divorce and financial settlements from the LSE and SOAS.

In 2005 Nazia set up Docklands Solicitors with her partners.

Nazia has a keen interest in obtaining financial settlements following the breakdown in both marriage and relationships.  Nazia has experience in representing clients in both divorce and cohabitee disputes which involve high income cases, change in financial circumstances requiring variations, assets based in the UK and abroad, the Proceeds of Crime Act, freezing assets and in cases with non co-operative parties. She often acts for clients who are based abroad. 

Nazia also has significant experience in representing fathers and mothers in complex private law children cases including residence, contact, relocation, domestic abuse and emergency applications and achieves successful results for both. Cases have included obtaining shared residence orders for fathers, contact orders in cases involving very serious allegations of harm, relocation orders whereby contact is maintained with the non resident parent in non Hague Convention countries and cases involving drug and alcohol abuse.

Nazia is a Resolution accredited specialist in financial matters and domestic abuse and is presently a training mediator.  Nazia is often invited to respond to proposals on law reform by the Law Commission and is contacted by journalists and other professionals seeking information on non-recognised marriages.

Nazia has also contributed to International Aspects of Family Law, Jordans and has written many other articles on subjects of interest.
